About Me

Who I Am

I’m Lauren, a Buffalo-based graphic designer, production designer, print specialist, prepress technician, and occasional kitchen sink. Much of my work lives in the space between design and production, bridging creative ideas with the practical realities of how they’ll be made. I have a “make it work” mindset, looking at what’s possible and weighing the tradeoffs across design, production, cost, time, and complexity.

How I Got Here

I started my career in the back room of a commercial print shop, running print and finishing equipment before moving into typesetting and eventually graphic design. That progression gave me hands-on experience with the downstream processes I’d later be designing for, and an understanding of the full lifecycle of a project. Considering production capabilities and constraints early in the design process leaves more room to find the right solution before the available options become limited or costly.

Beyond Work

Outside of work, I keep a mix of personal design and creative projects going, along with an ever-changing list of ideas for around the house. I volunteer as a designer with Aurora Players, a community theater in the Buffalo area. I also occasionally take classes with Buffalo Art Group and Buffalo Photography Group.

Let’s Connect

If you’re interested in working together or have a project in mind, I’d be happy to connect.
